I think I have just seen a Watchtower death wish in operation.
For those already doubting this could be the last straw. It was for me when I realised that paradise would actually be a living hell under the stranglehold of the GB.
i thought paradise was supposed to be a delight?
not according to the august study wt, on page 20 paragraphs 4-12 it outlines how much paradise will be exactly like being in the org today.
still following rules, waiting on jehovah and obeying those taking the lead.

the word sapiens (from latin, meaning wise) when applied to humans as final evolute, it is understood that humans manifest wisdom in their day-to-day living.
one of the features of being wise (which means having/showing experience, knowledge, and good judgment) is about replacing wastages with something better.
is this being done with regard to many of the greater aspects of our lives?.
i was baptised on 1st sept 1990, 25years ago today.
it is still a date with deep meaning for me.
i never dedicated my life to serving any man or any organisation, this was my choice - as a grown adult - to serve my god through jesus christ.
I imagined that serving God was the best thing to do and I also imagined that JWs had “the truth.” It was the required ritual for joining the club...and so I did it.
I have always been essentially irreverent, so I should have dived into the baptismal pool as was my notion at the time. I just wish now that I had been more irreverent and skeptical. That’s the problem with religion...it is no fun...people take idiotic beliefs seriously. I agree with Dawkins that people who hold unsupportable religious dogma should be mocked for it...had I been mocked for doing so; it would have saved me years of heartache.
GIM: for me my baptism is forgotten and meaningless but this is not to condemn those who feel otherwise...we all have our private myths and milestones.
islamic tradition rests on a foundation of the (claimed) writings of muhammad, that we know as the koran (or, quran).
so in that view believers see him restoring the original monotheistic faith of all the prophets ( of the west asian tradition).. its important to know that muhammad was born in mecca (in arabia) somewhere around 570 ce.
his parents died when he was young, and he was given into the care of his uncle abu talib.
Certainly a fascinating find in Birmingham. One imagines they will not bomb the library if it were found to be at the earliest date?
The Quran is considered perfect from the aspect of its perfect arabic prose. I wonder how this critique is evident in the Birmingham copy?
i don't know if gb member g jackson really meant the gb were 'god', with his 'guardians of doctrine' comment at the arc.
it's nice and conspiracy to think so, i suppose.
i honestly don't know.
a new religion?.
it has been a while that i didn't post.
as some of you may know i live in italy and ( maybe ) something curious is happening.
Bravissimo Roberto! The very last thing the GB want: the organisation to splinter itself to death.
Let's hope the idea catches on...everywhere!
ive been having an email exchange with a jw family member and the discussion seem to have become a bit heated and im not quite sure why.
i dont think ive said anything obviously offensive and ive been very careful with my wording.
but i think im sometimes a bit tone deaf with these things.
Welcome to the site Stumbler, I very much enjoyed your informed and rational arguments.
Your father's reply was very disappointing after all the effort you had put in to be clear, logical and not provocative. Alas! the witness brain has been specially wired to fight against anything which might deny it the limpet-like grip on the Watchtower delusions. Anything which disagrees with JW thinking is a frontal attack on the only thing which gives them hope in life: their delusional beliefs.
As you pointed out to your father that you are more interested with the information that leads to a conclusion regarding evolution than the concept itself (words to that effect). I'm sure this was lost on him but is a profound reality for those looking for truth. With JWs the conclusions come first as proposed by the GB, and evidence is manufactured according to the requirements of the doctrines.
after listening to the hearings of the australian royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse, i am no longer content to have simply walked away from the organization.
as a matter of conscience, i do not want my name linked with the organization in any way.
i know this letter has been posted previously, and i thank the author.
i don't know if they're making similar arrangements in other parts of the world but below you will find the letter (and the translation attempt) they're sending to all the congregations in mexico and central america asking them to modify their september 21 and september 28 service meeting programs.. after watching jackson's gold apple watch and lett's pinky ring one can only assume they are a bunch of brazen, shameless and greedy bastards!.
the letter has already been uploaded at the spanish forum and you can find it if you click here or see the attached picture.. the translation "attempt" is as follows:.
august 1, 2015. to all congregations.
anyone who has read what happened here, both to the ancient site and also the grizzly murder of antiquity scholar khalid asaad, consider this.
what religious/theocracy on earth now most resembles the stories of "god's chosen people" of the old testament?
probably isis does.
